"The role of Medicinal Plants in Reducing Pollution,"

NGC organized a One Day Seminar on " The role of Medicinal Plants in Reducing Pollution," as a part of the Environmental Awareness week. Rev. Fr. S. Raju S.J, correspondent and Rev Fr. P. Anil Kumar S.J, Vice Principal(U.G) greeted the gathering.

Dr. B. Siva Kumari, Academic secretary, N.G.C coordinator and Miss. V. Kavitha, HOD Dept of Bio-Technology, introduced the seminar topic to the gathering and also explained the importance of environmental awareness.

STAFF & STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN THE SEMINAR

The Resource person Dr. D. Sirisha, Head, Center for Environmental and Climate Change, School of Environmental Sciences, JNIAS, Telengana. She emphasized the role of Medicinal Plants in reducing the pollutants of Ground water and soil and also their role as Bio coagulants for controlling fluoride from ground water.

As a part of NGC programme, 30 NGC girl students participated in the cleaning and plantation work near the ALC church. This work gives students an experience about the importance of cleanliness and plantation. This also imparts a feeling of responsibility on their surroundings for the students.

Organized and Chaired a panel discussion on workshop theme ‘Women in science and technology’ in a six day WOMEN’S WORLD CONGRESS -2014 from 17^th to 22^nd August 2014, and presented a paper on ‘AGRICULTURAL TECHNOLOGIES AND THEIR IMPACT ON WOMEN.
