28-10-2016 - ONE DAY SEMINAR ON - EMPOWERMENT OF WOMEN THROUGH HEALTH


The Departments of Microbiology, Botany and Biotechnology have organized a DBT sponsored one Day awareness programme on “Empowerment of Women through Health” on 28th Oct, 2016 for the Intermediate students of our College

The programme was initiated by the introduction of the theme of the programme by Dr. B. Siva kumara, DBT Coordinator which was followed by Drawing Competition and Slogan writing competition for the students of Intermediate sections of our college on the topic “Save Girl Child”. Debate competition was also held on the topic “Empowerment of Women and role of Women in the Society”. All the girl students of Intermediate sections actively participated in the programme and the competitions held
 The competitions were followed by the Dental check up for the students by Dr. T. Venkata Sridevi, Cosmetic Dental Surgeon. She has counseled the students regarding the oral health and the problems related to oral cavity. She said that good oral care is important in maintaining healthy teeth, gums and tongue. Doctor has also explained and cleared the doubts of students with regard to various problems of teeth and cavities and other related problems.

In the afternoon session, Dr. Kola Vijaya Sekhar, Deputy Civil Surgeon, Govt. General Hospital, Vij, counseled the students regarding the ophthalmic problems and precautions to be followed for the students. He has also focused on the health cards and various plans related to the eye and other related problems. He stressed on the pint of having a thorough check up of the eyes which when neglected may lead to severe problems and even to blindness. All the Intermediate students underwent eye check up and cleared their doubts. All the HODs and members of the Departments monitored the programme.
