VANAM- MANAM- PRAKRUTHI PILUSTUNDI  - PLANTATION PROGRAM

Andhra Loyola College took a fore step in PLANTATION PROGRAM to motivate the Public mainly the Youngsters to protect the Environment from the Human activities that affects our future generation.  The Government gave a Slogan "VANAM - MANAM", to the Plantation program.  By taking this as motivation Andhra Loyola College started this Plantation program on 29/07/2016.

28th July, 2016- CAMPUS CLEANING -NGC -

National Green Corps organized Campus Cleaning Programme  to eradicate parthenium weed from the campus  on 28th July, , 2016 near the Canteen. 

A total no 120  Biology Students participated in this Programme. Dr. B. Siva Kumari, NGC Coordinator monitored the programme.

27-07-2016- DRAWING COMPETITIONS & GUEST LECTURE- ON THE EVE OF WORLD NATURE CONSERVATION DAY


On the Eve of World Nature’s Conservation Day, the Depts. of Botany, Microbiology, Biotechnology & National Green Corps of ALC, organized a DBT, MHRD, Govt of India, New Delhi organized Guest lecture on 28th July, 2016. 
 Rev. Fr. S. Emmanuel, SJ, former Principal of ALC and Dr. T. Sri Kumar, Dept. of Physics, ALC delivered invited talk on Biodiversity - Importance and Effect of Environmental Pollution on Health & Environment. 


On the Eve of World Nature’s Conservation Day, the Depts. of Botany, Microbiology, Biotechnology & National Green Corps of ALC, organized a DBT, MHRD, Govt of India, New Delhi sponsored Environmental Awareness Programme on 27th July, 2016.   


The Depts. organized Drawing Competitions on Save Nature and Conservation of Biodiversity for Intermediate, Degree and PG students. 

Total 280 students participated in the Drawing competitions. Rev. Fr. V. Chinnappa, Vice- Principal, Intermediate, Dr. N. Srinivasa Rao, HoD, Dept. of Statistics, Ms. Kavitha HoD of Biotechnology Dr. B. Siva Kumari Dept of Botany, Faculty and students of participating depts. participated in this event.

27-07-2016- TWO-DAY-REGIONAL STUDENT WORKSHOP- INSTRUMENTATION & HANDS ON TRAINING


The Departments of Biotechnology, Botany & Microbiology organized a Two-  Day DBT- Sponsored Regional Student Workshop & Hands on Training Programme from 27th & 28th July, 2016 on'INSTRUMENTATION & HANDS ON TRAINING IN ADVANCED BIOLOGICAL TECHNIQUES"


                                    
The Workshop was inaugurated by Rev Fr. Dr. G.A.P. Kishore, SJ Principal & Rev.Fr Dr . Emmanuel S.J, former Principal of  Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada.

The workshop was monitored by the Dr. B. Siva Kumari, DBT- Coordinator, Ms. Kavitha HoD, Dept. of Biotechnology, Mr. P. Srinivasa Rao, HoD, Dept. of Botany & Ms. Glory HoD, Dept. of Microbiology.
                                   Students learning about use of different types of Microscopes.

In this workshop all the 3 Departments guided the Students and exposed them to various Techniques, Instruments and Experiments which will be useful for them in future. This workshop helped kindle an interest for research in the students.
